Watching this film was like looking in the mirror, seeing my childhood come to life. Joe Manganiello wearing a “Bay Ridge” t-shirt? Pesto alla Trapanese (from Trapani)? Nonna saying “you just know” how much garlic or basil to put into the sauce (NOT gravy)? This stellar cast–Vince Vaughn, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Linda Cardellini, Susan Sarandon–told this true story with a lot of heart. It captured me.
