Hacks
Hacks is probably my favorite comedy of all time, with The Good Place a close second. Deborah and Ava are very different people who are unlikely friends, but they bond over their shared craft of comedy and their ambition to supercharge Deborah’s career. Absurdity ensues.
This last season 4 kicked off with our two heroines in an all-out war, while they navigate the pinnacle of Deborah’s career, hosting her late night show. In the process, they figure out who they are and what they mean to each other. By season 4, many shows start to feel tired, but this season of Hacks was a strong evolution of the characters individually and their relationship. The story arc to the finale was satisfying and earned. Can’t wait for season 5.
